Preparation time
In anticipation of our impending cycling race to Africa we both did a 4.5 hour training ride today. I went inland towards Ramona and Chris went along the coast to San Clemente. We tested out our new Kelly cyclo cross bikes, Sugoi bike pants with the extra padding in the seat and crotch (necessary for long days on a rutted road in Africa) along with our new camel back hydration system which worked really well. We then spent the afternoon testing a kick ass water filter, checking equipment and searching the web for heavy duty sunscreen. Chris the Brit is definitely going to be needing at least a factor of 30+ especially with the predicted temperatures of 45 degrees celsius in Sudan. We have numerous lists of things to do before January 1 and time is flying by.
